Trustees Set Sept. 18 Meeting Ahead of Select Board Talks
Library · Meeting of September 10, 2026
Great Barrington library trustees call a special Sept. 18 session ahead of a Select Board sit-down on Ramsdell. Co-Chair Lauren Clark told the Board of Library Trustees she and Co-Chair Laura Mars met with Ramsdell Building Committee members Frederica and Pam, who "don't like them at all" regarding renderings for the Ramsdell renovation, though the underlying design remains approved. Trustee G.
Patrick Hollenbeck attributed rendering shortfalls to an "incredible time crunch" facing the architects. A preliminary courtesy email from state historic reviewers prompted a September 22 joint meeting with the Select Board and Town Manager. Trustee Donna Jacobs disputed the board's fundraising-solicitation rules, saying "I read something differently, that we can get donations and send them to the town account." The board must reappropriate $50,000 in Ramsdell funding, $40,000 in state aid and $10,000 in donations, by its November meeting or lose it.
