Select Board votes 5-0 to enter closed session over audit

Select Board · Meeting of May 28, 2026

Great Barrington Select Board votes 5-0 to weigh possible litigation over a procurement audit. The five-member board, all present by roll call for a virtual meeting, moved into executive session under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30A, Section 21(a)(3) to discuss "possible litigation related to the preliminary results of the forensic audit and procurement practices." A second 5-0 roll-call vote approved executive session minutes from two earlier closed sessions, held May 13 and May 21. No residents spoke during public comment, and board members reported no announcements before adjourning without returning to open session.

"It's unanimous," the chair said after the second vote.
